Sachin rings in his birthday playing cricket with really special players
On April 24, Sachin brought in his birthday by playing cricket with the children of the ‘Make a Wish’ Foundation. While the children were elated to meet and play with their favourite icon, Sachin in turn drew inspiration from them and saluted their fighting spirit.
What does God do on his birthday? Now that’s a question that can befuddle the best of brains. Well, he will do what he likes most. In this case, play cricket. Yes, that’s what Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar did on his birthday on April 24.
His team arranged for Sachin to play cricket with the young children of ‘Make a Wish’ foundation. The foundation is an America based non-profit organisation that arranges for ‘wishes’ of children suffering from life-threatening conditions to be fulfilled. The Indian chapter of the organisation was very happy to rope in the most popular sports icon of the children.
Though Sachin played a small session with the excited children it was enough to send the children’s spirits soaring. While Sachin bowled a few overs he also obliged by teaching his signature straight drive and cover drive to his young fans. The playing session was followed by a small ceremony where Sachin cut his birthday cake.
