Admissions criteria have always varied from school-to-school, ranging from a sibling in the same school, living in the same locality, to a parent as a staff member, etc. And, oh yes, a good performance in academics and sports matters too. And then there’s the management quota.
Schools are now inventing new criteria for admissions involving parents more then ever before. So, what do students and parents need to possess for hassle-free admissions this upcoming session?
1. Aspirants with parents in Border Security Forces are likely to see it easier this year.
2. Aspirants with social activist parents too can see it easier.
3. Orphan students doing well will also be given priority.
4. Only girl child will be given preference.
5. Strong conviction among parents to get the best education for their children.
With the world shrinking and competition growing, schools seem to have concluded that new applicants need that extra mileage to get admitted. Preparing the students to face the real world, and how, some schools have been using a lottery system after conducting a test. Reportedly, this lottery provides a diversity bringing different religious, economical, educational backgrounds to a single classroom.
After all the in-depth interaction and psychological testing of parents and aspirants, etcetera, etcetera, many schools have recently begun promoting girls’ education by giving extra points to the fairer sex.
While all this is laudable, it still does leave us wondering, how do schools get above management quota? Is there a plan in place for that, as well?
