With the advent of technology, many things have changed and certain things have ceased to exist. Post offices and slow mails are some among those. Now that the world has shrunken to a worldwide we and communication has become easy thanks to mails, social media platforms, communication apps on smartphones, post offices have become a thing of past. While we hardly see any post boxes, generation younger to us has only read about these in books.

To help them know of the now-non-existent post boxes, pre-primary students of MAEER MIT, Vishwashanti Gurukul School, were taken to the local Post Office. The highly excited children waited for this day in anticipation. On the day of their excursion, they were briefed about the history and working of post offices. Employees at the post office had patiently shown and explained how letters are sorted as well as what else the post office provides. They were introduced to the Postman who explained them how he works which made him feel very important and justifiably so!

A few of the children had carried envelopes and they stuck a stamp each and enthusiastically dropped them in the letter box.
