Since the Industrial Revolution, we have been witnessing a wide range of new mechanical tools for manufacturing. One of them was 3D printing technology which was also known as 'addictive manufacturing' that was invented in the 1980s. It has started to evolve into the next-generation manufacturing technology. And as the 3D printers get more affordable, it is very easy to visualise the school children accessing one.

Shaperjet is one of the many new 3D printer that aims on the education market. This Delhi-based printer was founded by Raman Sachdev who has decided to expand the 3D printing market in India.

1. The printer prints uses a corn-based biodegradable plastic to avoid hazardous fumes for printing

2.  Also, the company offers training programs, which is essential for anyone  who is trying 3D printing technology for the first time

ShaperJet’s clients are mostly into educational and maker space facilities, as well as small businesses, artists, and other organizations.

It has already sold 63 3D printers from its line that carries 2 models: the ShaperJet SJB and ShaperJet SJL, which are, respectively, priced at Rs. 48,000/- and Rs.55,000/-

While the company is currently focused on India’s education market, its long-term plans are to expand into engineering, medical, fashion, architecture and other industries.
