Shri Prakash Javadekar to inaugurate Kala Utsav National Competition: MHRD

Union Minister of HRD, Shri Prakash Javadekar will inaugurate “Kala Utsav” (Festival of Arts) at Bal Bhavan, New Delhi on 12th December, 2018. Kala Utsav is an initiative of the Department of School Education and Literacy of the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

About 370 children from all States (except Karnataka) and Union Territories will participate in the four-day national level competition that will be held in (i) Vocal Music (ii) Instrumental Music (iii) Dance and (iv) Painting. One girl and one boy from each State/Union Territory will compete in each of the competitions. Students representing Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Samiti will also be competing.

Kala Utsav National Competition was launched in 2015 with a view to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talents of school students, children with special needs too will have the opportunity to display their talents.
