Waking up to a warm morning, the students of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya (MSMSV) reached the school quite early today. And why not! The school was celebrating its 31st Annual Sports Day on Saturday.
The day started with the school authorities welcoming the chief guest, Rehan Poncha, international swimmer and Olympic winner, with the principal, Krishna Bhati, addressing the gathering and introducing Poncha to it. The school houses marched with full zest and vigour along with the NCC cadets while the school band gave a stirring performance of its own.

Following this, the outstanding athletes of the year, who had brought laurels to MSMSV, were introduced to Poncha. On his part, in his address to the gathering, the Olympian talked about the necessity of sports in life and how sports played an instrumental part in embedding self-discipline and team spirit among students.
The agile students gave a display of yoga with surya namaskar, lezim dance, kickboxing and PT by the NCC cadets. The audience got to witness a grand show of sportsmanship. There was a special event planned for the grandparents of the students, which saw the elderly competing in a game of musical chairs with loud cheers coming their way from all over the grounds at Lily Pool.
