Telangana State United Teachers Federation (TSUTF) demanded the State government to strengthen the government schools network and introduce English medium education. To bring home the point, the TSUTF is conducting a bus yatra in the Telangana district and this yatra reached the town of Nizamabad on Friday.
Upon reaching Nizamabad, SFI Students, TSUTF Teachers and left parties’ activists gave a rousing welcome to the Bus Yatra at Varni circle and participated in the rally till Raja Rajndra Circle. On the occasion, TSUTF State President A. Narsi Reddy lamented that the number of students was falling in government schools while they were on a rise in private schools in Telangana.
The downtrodden sections of the society were badly hit by such trends, he added. Narsi Reddy demanded that the State government introduce a 2 – tier system in education, appoint a headmaster for each school and allot a classroom and a teacher for each class. TSUTF State general secretary Chava Ravi, district president Suresh, general secretary Satyanand, district committee members Someshwarlu were among those who were present at the rally.
