This school teacher from Meghalaya seeks your support to spread positivity and the joy of reading among children

The 100 Story House is a small rustic children’s library in the Garo Hills, Meghalaya to promote the habit of reading. The founders seek your support to raise some money to buy a used mini-van in order for them to go around town to bring the eager children to the library.

Meet Ms. Jemimah Marak, a school teacher, who has started a small rustic children's library in the Garo Hills, Meghalaya (Northeast) to inculcate the habit of reading among the children of the rather disturbed region. With the help of her friends and family in other places she has successfully collected used children's books. With a lot of help, the number of books have risen to 800+ books and as many as 60-80 children visit the library on a regular basis. Activities such as storytelling, workshops on personality development, communication skills, free counselling and career guidance, recycling, etc. are also conducted here.

Many children have expressed a desire to come here regularly but are unable to do so since they live far from the library and their parents are not able to always bring them here. Also, parents fear kidnapping if they send their children on their own. Thus, many eager kids are left with no choice and nowhere to go.

She would really like some support to raise some money to buy a used mini-van in order for them to go around town to bring the eager children to the library. Her husband and she are both school teachers and do not make a lot of money to afford this vehicle. This van will not only serve to ferry children to and fro from the library, but it will also be a symbol of peace and hope for a better tomorrow for these precious children.

We request you to help Jemimah in her humble effort. Your contribution will be much appreciated.
