On 13th May, the Orangers set out to paint the Pink City with their bicycles and high spirits.  Scoonews first broke the story about Siddarth Choudhary who had taken up this challenge to ride down to Jaipur with his team Gurgaon Road Runners and we were more than pleased to welcome them. They reached Jaipur at 06:30 am on the 14th and flagged off the event at 10.30 am arriving to Amar Jawan Jyoti. Upon arriving, the team was showered with all the praises and wishes.

We had a quick talk with one of the team members who told us;

"We cycled 225 kms from Gurgaon to Jaipur. Before taking up this challenge, all of us including Siddarth trained for 7 weeks, building up stamina and courage. We made everyone believe in the impossible and we are really happy to be here."

We also asked if there were any obstacles that they faced on their way to which they told us;

"Everybody faces obstacles. It's how we overcome them that matters. An incident happened on the highway. We were cycling and at mid-night some drunk people came on the road and stood in front of few of our team members, asking them to stop. They were teasing and threatening too but our unity and courage didn't let them take over control. We also had a bouncer with us who was a  trained boxer and after a point when it got too much, he handled  the matter. We were scared but it only helped us build up our courage to achieve this challenge."

More than anything, everyone admired their determination was inspiring.

Kusum Yadav, chairman of cultural committee, Jaipur Municipal Corporation, was there to felicitate the participants and appreciate their efforts of spreading awareness about health.

The team had slogans and posters to help spread the importance of a pollution free surrounding.

When we had a little conversation with Siddarth, he said;

"One should ride 10-15 kms to office for its not just healthy for the environment, it is also healthy for your own body. It keeps you in shape and most importantly, it keeps you active throughout the day. Everyone needs motivation and that should come from within. Once you are confident, you'll see that everyone will support you and would want to be a part of it. In fact, we were supported by Jaipur Cycling Commemorates who joined us 60 kms before we entered the city which was surprising and over-whelming."

He also told us a little about his team;

"30 of us cycled for 14hrs and none of us are athletes, and we don't even look like one either. Most of the women are housewives, and men are from the corporate world. So, what drives them to do this positive exercise is their want to stay active and fit and spread awareness about the same."
