Workshop on ‘Classroom Management Strategies’ organised at Jayshree Periwal High School

It is probably no exaggeration to say that class room management is the primary concern of teachers ever since they have been in classrooms. But the study of effective classroom strategies is relatively a recent phenomenon. It is an extremely important tool as it provides a cohesive and ideal learning environment to the students, prevents teacher burnout and thus makes both happy and content. But at the same time, the fact that classroom management is not just about rules & discipline cannot be negated. There is lot more to it. To discover this "more", a Workshop on 'Classroom Management Strategies' was organised at Jayshree Periwal High School.

The workshop aimed at empowering the teachers with various education modules and effective ways of teaching.

Apart from academics, handling of students, the problems faced by teachers while dealing with them were addressed by the resource person Ms. Usha Vasundevan. By means of interactive activities, the importance of stimulus variation, multiplicity of teaching aids, choice of activities, role of teachers etc. were highlighted.

Through the extremely enriching session, the teachers learnt the vital skills of identifying the interests, handling sensitive issues, behavioural problems and academic challenges of the students.
