As the world saw the celebration of the International Yoga Day on the 21st of June, it put many things into perspective. As in India, it saw the largest audience participation ever. With our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi having active participation in the event as well, a lot of awareness was spread across the nation. Parents and children accepting that yoga and other fitness exercises are important for the physical as well as the mental, has really shaped new avenues for schools to improve their co-curricular systems on.

As Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das declared, yoga would now be in daily practice for students for a duration of at least 15-20 minutes to incorporate the tradition within their lifestyle. Being an integral part of the Indian culture as well, it is imperative that our youth learns about the values of physical health as well as bookish academics.

As only with the right combination of both the mind and the body, will we be as effiecient and sharp as the world requires us to be.
