Due to the worsening conditions of pollution in Delhi NCR, the AAP government earlier declared the closing of the primary schools and work from home for 50% of the staff. Arvind Kejriwal shared that all the necessary steps are been taken to control the pollution in Delhi. He added that all the primary schools should be shut from November 5 and outdoor activities to be restricted for classes above grade 5.
The Commission on Air Quality Management (CAQM) has asked Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh schools to take a step back and conduct all the classes online and restrict physical classes until the city’s air quality improves.
Meanwhile, the decision of reopening schools in Delhi has been taken after a high–level meeting chaired by the Environment minister Gopal Rai. The primary schools will commence and the ban on outdoor activities will be removed from November 9 onwards. As stated by an ANI report, Education Minister Gopal Rai urged “Primary schools in Delhi were closed and outdoor activities of other classes were stopped. From 9th Nov, primary schools will open, and the ban on outdoor activities is being lifted.”
For the moment, the level of air pollution in Delhi has improved as compared to earlier so the Centre’s air quality panel on Sunday directed authorities to lift various curbs issued.
