University of Manchester To Offer Scholarships for Indian Students

The University of Manchester has announced a series of scholarships for Indian students for the September 2024 intake. These scholarships, including the Humanities International Excellence Scholarships and the Global Futures Scholarships, aim to support exceptional Indian students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the university.

The evaluation for these scholarships is based on academic merit. Eligible offer holders will receive scholarships in the form of tuition fee reductions. Here is a list of the available scholarships:

Global Futures Scholarship
The Global Futures Scholarship is available to students worldwide, including those from India. It caters to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. For undergraduates, the University of Manchester offers 100 merit-based scholarships of £21,000. Applicants must be applying for direct first-year entry in 2024 and possess or be working towards qualifications such as A Levels, IB Diploma, or Indian Class 12 from specific boards.

For postgraduate students, the university offers 100 merit-based scholarships of £8,000. Applicants will be considered based on academic merit and the quality of their scholarship application.

Humanities Bicentenary Scholarships
The Humanities department offers bicentenary scholarships providing financial aid for qualified candidates. For the September 2024 academic session, undergraduate students will receive £2,000 per year, while postgraduate candidates will receive £10,000 for one year of study. These scholarships are available to students from the School of Arts, Languages and Culture, and the School of Environment, Education and Development.

Humanities International Excellence Scholarship
This scholarship supports outstanding international students pursuing humanities disciplines at the postgraduate level. Applicants must have an offer to study at the university and an overall score of 60-70 per cent in their undergraduate studies, depending on their Indian institution.
