CM’s ambitious Samajwadi Abhinav Vidyalaya project hits roadblock.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's visionary project to turn the Samajwadi Abhinav Vidyalaya into a model school has hit an airpocket in the Agra division. The lone school in Bah block of Agra district has failed on 2 fronts, firstly, it has failed to get a CBSE affiliation and secondly it still lacks basic academic infrastructure.

The school administration pointed out that while the new academic session was planned to commence from April, classes actually started only this month. The delay was caused by unavailability of books and uniforms for the students. The silver lining here is that Samajwadi Abhinav Vidyalaya schools do not lack for teachers as although teachers weren’t formally hired for Samajwadi Abhinav Vidyalaya schools, Uttar Pradesh Board teachers have been lending their services to the institute.

"In the first session of the school, students are being taught as per the UP Board curriculum. The government has sought a proposal from the secondary education department on the basis of which uniforms and books will be provided," said a source, while adding that the exercise may take time and may affect students' academic performance.

"Dinesh Kumar Yadav, district inspector of Schools, said, "The state government is making efforts for better the functioning of Samajwadi Abhinav School. Uniforms and books will be made available to students as soon as possible. Suitable arrangements will also be made to develop the school into a model intuition for secondary education."

"Till date, the institute was using a nearby school's furniture, but now the state has approved a budget for buying new furniture," Yadav added.
