Education is a continuous process and it always has scope for changes, changes for that lead to the process' betterment. With this belief, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today wrote to members of school management committees (SMCs) soliciting their views on maximum participation of parents for better and effective functioning of government schools.

"… after speaking to many of you, it is learnt that (the desired) changes dont take place despite these efforts and activity. We believe views of parents and students are most important. And I want to know your opinions in this regard," he told parents.

In the letter, Sisodia, who is also the Education Minister in Delhi Government, acclaimed the SMC members for bringing the functioning of schools under a light of "positive" changes over the past year, but expressed the need for more changes.

Sisodia further asked the SMC members whether the schools they are connected with require any change, and if there are obstructions in the functioning of the management committees, what additional roles the members can play and how much time in the next year can be devoted for the purpose.
