Prof. Sugata Mitra is a renowned computer scientist and educational theorist, widely recognized for his groundbreaking Hole in the Wall experiment, which revolutionized perspectives on self-directed learning and literacy. His work has been extensively cited in studies on education and technology-driven learning.

He holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics and served as Professor of Educational Technology at Newcastle University, England, for 13 years before retiring in 2019. In 2012, he was a visiting professor at the MIT Media Lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Currently, he is Professor Emeritus at NIIT University, Rajasthan, India.

For his pioneering contributions to education and innovation, Mitra was awarded the prestigious TED Prize in 2013.
