Neerja Modi School Makes a Firm Decision: NISHCHAY

Neerja Modi School students are now experiencing the next level in their student life. Stepping a foot forward from the regulars, students of the school teach girl students of Nishchay, an NGO-based school in Jaipur.
The NMS students not only teach the regular subjects, but help these girls coming from below poverty line to develop mental abilities as well.
Nishchay is a project undertaken by Neerja Modi Schhol in an endeavor to provide skill development training and education to girls below the poverty line.
The school had initiated the project in the year 2004, the aim behind which is to empower the girls who lack opportunities, help them gain the dignity they want. Neerja Modi School not only teaches them basic subjects like Maths, E.V.S., Computer, English and Hindi but also provides practical training other vocational courses that can well help girls in talent development in many other ways. Vocational courses that Neerja Modi helps them with are:
• Mehndi/Henna application
• Chocolate making
• Candle/Diya making
• Painting
• Handicrafts
• Cookery classes (use of modern gadgets viz gas stove oven etc.)
• Tailoring and embroidery
• Self grooming classes
Though the administration of NMS laid the foundation of Nischay which today supports education of over 500 students, it is students of the school who too are contributing in educating the girls.

From algebra to the concepts of concave mirror, the students of NMS try their best to impart whatever they can to these students. For the purpose, the school regularly holds exhibitions in school premises inviting the girls to interact and learn. In these exhibitions the girls observe the magic of their theory turning into practical. This in turn helps them to prepare for various competitive exams and also brings the students of Neerja Modi a tad bit closer to reality of different phases of life, preparing them for hardships.
If schools like Neerja Modi come forward with such initiatives and efforts, India’s dream of eradication of illiteracy will soon be a truth!
