Univ. of Queensland Announces Educator Empowerment Programme, Experts Explain The Need of Modern Learning
The University of Queensland, along with ScooNews, has come up with an advanced Teacher Training Programme.

Here’s a chance to build your skills better. The University of Queensland has announced Educator Empowerment Programme – a certified program through four virtual workshops for senior educators on the Modern Learning Environment.
It’s an Initiative by Trade and Investment Queensland, Study Queensland, The University of Queensland – India, and ScooNews. Only 300 seats from K-12 schools across India are invited to be a part of this educational event, based on the first-come-first-serve basis.

This is a 4-day programme as per the below schedule:
22 June, Monday: Masterclass – Launch by TIQ Trade Commissioner and Session – The Modern Teacher and our Modern Learners
23 June, Tuesday: Masterclass – Work-Integrated Learning and Activity
24 June, Wednesday: Workshop – Authentic Assessment for the Modern Learner
25 June, Thursday: Summation (Evaluating our Practice as Educators) and Closing Address by TIQ Trade Commissioner
11 AM IST, every day.
Please note that for certification, all sessions and related exercises have to be attended/submitted
Talking about the programme, Dr. Gurion Ang, Associate Lecturer, School of Biological Sciences – Faculty of Science, told ScooNews, "I was impressed with the positive energy and was enthralled to see the relevant questions asked by the senior educators during today’s session! I’ve been delivering webinars across Australia, and most of South East Asia and recently delivered many masterclasses for Indian students as well as their teachers and school leaders. These workshops are skill-focused and provide you with ideas to modernise your teaching practice. The variety of strategies and resources we have discussed will help you to be creative and engaging with your students."

About the mentor:
Dr. Gurion Ang (Dr. G) is a teaching and engagement focussed academic from the School of Biological Sciences at The University of Queensland (UQ), where he also completed his PhD in 2017. Apart from teaching ecology and zoology at UQ, Dr. G spends his time working with high-school teachers across the Asia Pacific to renew and refresh their teaching practice by applying modern active learning pedagogy and digital learning.
